This photo was taken in Shigatse,Tibet somewhere along the Tashilunpo Monastery kora. The kora takes about one hour and goes into the hills behind the monastery. Tashilunpo itself is the largest functioning monastery in Tibet.
This teacher resource booklet is based on the Philadelphia Museum of Art's 2014 exhibit "Treasures from Korea." It includes a CD-ROM of some of the art from the exhibition, and uses artworks to explore the culture and beliefs of the Joseon Dynasty.
