Historical and Cultural Importance of Rice, The Individual Lesson Plan, . Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE).
This lesson engages students in a variety of activities based on readings carefully selected to reflect the historical and cultural importance of rice in the six Asia/Pacific countries. Readings include a literature excerpt from Thailand, a folktale and poetry from China, a short story from Indonesia, a personal narrative from Bangladesh, a legend from the Philippines, and a folktale from Japan.
